Hey, you! Yes, you! What took you so long? No matter. We are glad you finally made it. Now that we have you here: let’s talk wine… and food. At least, that’s what we hope you are here for.
But first, let us introduce ourselves.
About us
We are Olga and Oksana. Together we are the creative force behind the Corks+Forks. We live in a beautiful British Columbia, Canada. The thing to know about us, we have a “love affair” with wine. But more importantly, we are major enogastronomy fanatics.
Enogastronomy… Well.. that’s a mouthful! Pun intended. What we are saying is we are obsessed with wine and food. Or, to be precise, we are on a quest to uncover how the wine we drink best matches the food we eat. As staunch believers that the best way to properly appreciate the wine is to try it with food, we experiment with various food and wine pairing ideas that we write about.
We share our recipes that work and tell you about the food pairings that don’t.
We give candid opinion about the wineries we visited and the wines we tasted.
We are interested in the wine aging process, grape provenance, and of course, wine tasting notes. We like to have in-depth chats with the wine stewards, sommeliers, and on occasion, winery proprietors.
If you are wondering, no, we are not certified sommeliers or wine industry insiders. We are two ordinary chicks who know their wine and are not afraid to talk about it in simple, non grand terms. Our goal is to help you turn a wine on your table into a “secret sauce” that makes your dining experience a perfect ten.
