What’s on the board?
- Chocolate-covered strawberries, plain, with cocoa nibs and dusted with shredded coconut. Recipe here.
- Chocolate-covered orange segments. Use the same recipe as chocolate covered strawberries, just substitute strawberries with orange segments.
- Chocolate-covered walnut pieces. Use the same recipe as above. Use nuts of your choice instead of berries.
- Ready-made chocolate and truffle pieces made by your favorite chocolatier. Praline, coffee and hazelnut-flavored chocolates work best if paring with the recommended wine choices.
- Sweet blueberry goat cheese aka chèvre, fresh cheese log.
- Sweet cranberry-covered goat cheese.
- Oven-toasted bagel slices dusted with icing sugar.
Method
- Assemble all of the above on a large flat plate or board.
Enjoy!
Charcuterie Board Tips
- Our chocolate strawberries recipe calls for 1 lb. of strawberries. You can use ½ lb. strawberries and substitute the remaining ½ of berries with 2 large oranges.
- Brioche toasts are the best choice for the board. In the absence of such, use thinly sliced and toasted bagel slices.
Nuts are a great way to use the leftover melted chocolate!
- When all the fruit dipping is done, and there’s still some melted chocolate left, add whatever nuts you have on hand right into the remaining melted chocolate. Mix everything vigorously. Scrape the chocolate and nuts mass onto the tray lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil and put it into the fridge for 20 minutes.
