Apple Rosettes Pastries

These puff pastry apple rosettes with peach jam make for a sweet and elegant dessert, perfect for impressing guests or enjoying a special treat at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry
  • 6 tbsp. peach jam preferably homemade (see recipe link below this recipe card)
  • 3 apples
  • Icing sugar to taste
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 1 quart water

Instructions

Prepare apple rosettes ingredients:

  • Thaw the puff pastry dough according to package instructions.
  • Thinly slice apples in semi circles and toss them in lemon juice to prevent browning.
  • Blanch apples and set them aside.
  • Preheat your oven to 360°F (182°C).

Assemble puff pastry apple rosettes:

  • Roll out the puff pastry dough to approximately 5 mm (3/16 inch) thickness. Cut it into 4 long stripes.
  • Spread a thin layer of peach jam on each stripe.
  • Arrange apple slices on the top half of the jam-covered pastry so that they slightly overlap
  • Fold the bottom half of the pastry over the apples and roll it into a rosette shape.
  • Place the rosettes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Sprinkle each rosette with sugar

Bake apple rosettes:

  • Bake until the pastry is golden brown and the apples are tender about 25-30 minutes but start checking at 20
  • Allow the rosettes to cool on a wire rack.
  • Sprinkle with icing sugar. Serve warm or at room temperature

Notes

Important to note, this puff pasty recipe is easily scalable for various occasions and you can easily substitute apricot jam with any jam of your liking.
